PESA Singapore Chapter Launch with Dr Peggy Kern

Dr Peggy Kern is an associate professor at the Centre for Wellbeing Science within the University of Melbourne's Graduate School of Education. Originally trained in social, personality, and developmental psychology, Dr Kern received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Arizona State University, a Masters and Ph.D. in social/personality psychology from the University of California and postdoctoral training in positive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her research focuses on understanding, measuring, and supporting wellbeing across the lifespan. She works with schools and workplaces to examine strategies for supporting wellbeing, and bridging gaps between research and practice.  You can find out more about Dr Kern's work at  www.peggykern.org

Dr Kern will share her insights on Positive Education in 2021 in the context of the pandemic, as well as some strategies schools might wish to adopt to support the wellbeing of their students and staff. There will be some time set aside for a short Q&A session with Dr Kern, so if you have a question, please send it to us in advance. We will try to get to as many as time allows.

This promises to be a fascinating session with a globally recognised expert and we thank Dr Kern for sharing her expertise with us.

Our Chapters bring together school leaders, teachers, academics, health professionals, parents and community members by growing networks, and encouraging sharing of ideas and knowledge.  Our Chapter organising committees run regular local events such as state conferences, networking events and Positive Education seminars and workshops.  Most events are free to PESA members.
